Stylist vs. Designer

‘What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior stylist?’

It’s a great question. It can be much of a muchness, but a long story short -

Interior Designers typically see through long-term interior projects from start to finish - carefully working through all the details from the initial floor plan to final touches. Often these projects have a longer time frame and require continuous communication with the client during the design process to ensure that the client is 100% happy and excited about the finished space.

At Stak we cater for this (check this out in Our Packages); doing some of the heavy lifting for you, pointing you in the direction of excellent and trusted suppliers.

We also work in a styling capacity. This is for those quicker turn around projects. Sourcing pieces that tell your story, finish off your space and make it really feel like YOU.

I’ll caveat here and say that this still takes some time… it’s not just shopping! As a stylist I take time to understand who you are, developing mood boards and carefully considering each piece.

Carefully considering how the layers, textures, colours and angles all work together to impact the feel and flow of a space. This could be your home, an office, a cafe… we are able to source and style with a shorter time frame. That’s the job of a stylist - to have an ability to turn it around balancing quality and pace.

Styling scratches the itch of (almost) instant gratification and we’re here for it!
